In the middle of the coldest spell of the year, with temperatures hitting minus 11 last weekend here in Boston, thoughts turn to Florida and our annual conference on April 6-8 at Disney’s Swan Resort.

ERP Customer Conference: Not Too Soon To Prepare For April

Posted by Jack Saint on Jan 22, 2016 11:00:00 AM

A friend recently shared with me her plans to run in the Boston Marathon on April 18.  This annual event draws thousands of runners from across the world and hundreds of thousands of spectators.

What struck me is that in the middle of winter here in Boston, in January, people are already putting in 12, 14, and 16 mile runs to prepare for this event.  These are often done in sub-freezing temps, with rain, sleet and snow being blown into the faces of the runners.

Every ERP Company Should Model Themselves After the Cast of Star Wars

Posted by Bernie Nangle on Dec 21, 2015 2:47:32 PM

Having Star Wars and ERP solution in the same sentence does not seem right. I picture those 2 topics coinciding in a galaxy far far away, but by the end of this I hope you recognize the merit behind what I’m saying and not just think I am a strange star wars fan working at an ERP company.

I am new to the ERP industry, fresh out of college. My job title is an Account Representative. I am proud to say the organization I work for runs like a well-oiled Millennium Falcon. When I first started working at Visibility; to better understand everyone’s role in my new office I have applied my vast Star Wars knowledge. Some of the success we have experienced as a company can be contributed to that fact that our ERP team is modeled after the cast of Star Wars.

Miss America Says Tom Brady Cheated

Posted by Jack Saint on Sep 18, 2015 10:35:00 AM

Betty Cantrell, the new Miss America from Georgia, says Tom Brady cheated.  “If there was any question to be had I think that he definitely cheated and he should have been suspended for that,” she said in response to a question posed to her during the annual competition.

So I guess it must be true.

A Lesson in Customer Service

Posted by Kellie Righini on Sep 4, 2015 9:39:42 AM

Have you ever had bad customer service? I think it is safe to say, at one point in our lives; we have all experienced POOR customer service. You know what I am talking about – during the sale cycle the sales person is so attentive, calling you back right away, responding to all your questions and needs in a timely manner, making you feel warm and fuzzy. And then BAM – you purchase the product or service and then it’s like you become a No Body!

Well I have a prime example of this type of horrific customer service. I recently purchased new appliances, stove, refrigerator, and dishwasher, from a major appliance store (who will remain anonymous because I am nice). While my husband and I were shopping, we had 3 salespeople follow us around the store, eager to assist us in anyway and offering us a great deal. We purchased all 3 appliances and since our kitchen was under construction, we scheduled deliver for 45 days. We were told no problem and they happily took our money.

Draft for Need v. Best Available

Posted by Jack Saint on Jul 14, 2015 3:06:45 PM

For many years different General Managers in all Professional Sports have been asked the same question. Do they draft for need or simply pick the best available player?

Should you pick the best point guard available in basketball because your team could really use a point guard, or pick the best overall player?  Should you take the top outside linebacker to fill a hole on your football team or take the best player?
